Information about the exams
Het theorie examen
The first thing you can schedule right away is your theory exam. You must always take this exam before you can take the practical exam. You can apply for the theory exam as soon as you turn 16. You can submit your application for the theory exam directly to the CBR. The exam consists of three sections: traffic rules, traffic awareness and hazard perception.
The cost of a standard theory exam is € 34.50. You can also request a special theory exam, such as one for dyslexia or test anxiety. With these, you’ll be given more time per question. However, these special exams always cost more.
The interim test
You always have the option to take a practice test before the practical exam. This is, essentially, a test that doesn’t count toward your final grade. This way, you’ll already know what the exam is like and what areas you still need to work on. This way, you’ll go into your exam with confidence. During your interim test, you will perform the special maneuvers. If these are approved, you’ll be exempt from the special maneuvers during your practical exam.
After an interim test, you must always bring a valid ID, the self-reflection form and the invitation from the CBR.
Your practical exam
After a while, the time has finally come: you can take your practical exam. Once your driving instructor determines that you are ready, they will schedule the exam.
